In 1976 I heard via Mr. Arie Kattenberg about the investigations of the radio radiation of the sun through the radio telescope in Dwingeloo (Netherlands). After studying the photographic material, I discovered that the radiation had interesting frequency structures that could open up possible musical perspectives through translation into the audible range.

The composition series “Sonnenmusik” is one of the few experiments to make concrete cosmic radiation musically audible. Through the collaboration of various scientists, I was able to realise a project of this magnitude.
