The music for the video “Marcos” is a live recording of two concerts in Madrid and in the “VIII edición del festival ‘Nits d’Aielo i Art'”, which took place in the “Auditorio Municipal” of Aielo de Malferit (Valencia) on February 5, 2005. The composition consists of 3 parts:
1. Solar radiation
2. Fram
3. Doors

The electronic instruments as well as the big humming top “Fram“ were played live.

In co-operation with Stefan Hößle the big top Fram was built in Nürnberg in the spring 2002. The top is named after the research ship of Fridtjof Nansen and has a diameter of 90 cm. Fram is one of the largest, sounding humming-tops of the world. Fram has 12 accordion tongues and a 6-voice chord (the remaining tongues are octave doublings).

For this video we used the “optischen Farbmischer“ (Optical Color-Mixer) built in 1923 by the Bauhaus designer Ludwig Hirschfeld-Mack .

The Optical Color-Mixer Top is more than a mere toy. It demonstrates how optical color mixtures are produced. Seven interchangeable cardboard discs inspired by the ideas of Goethe, Schopenhauer and Hölzel can be compared when the top is spun.

After being scanned special software created the virtual spinning of the cardboard discs and new color tapestries with feedback systems.
